CrisOs is a free inspired remix of OpenWrt for FoxBoard Linux embedded board.

This project was a dedicated distro with a derivate sdk and binary repository.
From February 2009, I became an official OpenWrt committer, hence all the improvements designed for crisos SDK have been upstreamed to OpenWrt making crisos SDK outdated!!!

Warning:

This project provide also a SDK used for firmware/package building called SDKF.

This SDK may be used for different purposes; it is necessary if you like to build your personal firmware, if you need to add pre installed application inside firmware, make binary package and cross-compiling your app!

To personalize your firmware you need to use SDK from svn server, so read SDK for information to install it.

The SDK is documented within README on top directory.

Here follows some remarks and useful information on openwrt/crisos feeds.

Basic personalization

Inside SDK you can add or remove buildin kernel driver using:

Here you can find some tips and the FAQ.

Network address

Warning CrisOs doesn't have a fixed ip, CrisOS tries to use the DHCP protocol for determining its network address; to change this behaviour please read Network Configuration.

REAL BIG WARNING

OpenWrt snapshot use fixed ip instead!

The fixed ip is: 192.168.1.1 !!

~~NOTRANS~~

On this page you can download the current and old CrisOs version. Frequently someone ask me which release he/she should use, so:

	* Darwinfox release is based on a daily snapshot of openwrt with the crisos patches so the software are generaly more updated.
	* Alpha release is older but stable release.

CrisOs on FoxBoard Mcm version

The Darwinfox version of CrisOs don't support the mcm version as is.

You can simple create MCM firmware using OpenWrt SDK this steps:

	* Download the OpenWrt buildroot (SDK)
	* run make menuconfig and chooise FoxBoard
	* run make kernel_menuconfig and change values according to <http://foxlx.acmesystems.it/?id=30>
	* run make to recompile your OpenWrt foxboard image
